Even the most seasoned professional will tell you – there are some skills you need to continue to hone over the years to ensure success in industry – no matter how seasoned you are. These include communication, leadership and the ability to work in a team. No matter how long you’ve been out in the world, working well with other people is the key to success in all facets of industry – regardless of the sector.
It’s for this reason our company partners rate “soft skills” as one of the most important things they look for in prospective employees. The team-based environment in industry demands it. You need to be able to communicate effectively to ensure you get the job you want – and to ensure you can engage effectively with your team to keep it.
As a result, we spend a lot of time working with students to sharpen those professional skills so they can nail the interview – and be effective in the industrial setting. This is a cornerstone of the Master’s Internship Program.
