2016 Networking Event Showcases UO Talent and Great Opportunities

The 2016 Networking Event began Wednesday evening, Septemer 7th, on the UO campus with a mixer on the CAMCOR lawn above the advanced materials characterization laboratory under blue skies. Students mingled with company partners, shared research experiences and got the inside perspective of industry veterans and rookies alike.

The evening event was emceed by program director and Director of Stratetic Partnerships, Dr. Stacey York. Guests listened to speeches from UO VP for Research & Innovation David Conover, Dr. York and fellow students before gathering in the Willamette Hall Atrium for a networking dinner.

Interviews were held at the Eugene Hilton all day Thursday and Friday. Excited and nervous students lingered in the waiting areas around the interviewing ballroom, laid out like a giant speed dating event. Aside from a break for lunch, company partners met and interviewed 59 students and held 344 interviews in two days!
